The NBA’s new Big 3 took the floor for the first time together in Miami Heat uniform and led the revamped squad to a 105-89 victory over the Detroit Pistons yesterday at the American Airlines Arena. Longtime franchise player Dwayne Wade hit the opening bucket for Miami but strained his right hamstring soon after. The newly acquired LeBron James and Chris Bosh then took over for a collective 38 points and nine rebounds. Udonis Haslem netted 14 points and pulled down 13 boards during his 25 minutes in the game.

“I like the fact that we got better tonight. We didn’t waste an opportunity to get better. That’s what it’s about,” said James after the win. “You can tell it’s an exciting time for this city. Hopefully we can come through and do things that we need to do on the court to keep the fans excited.” The Heat are next scheduled to matchup with Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder. Their first official contest will be at the TD Garden against the defending Eastern Conference champion Boston Celtics. Purchase your opening game Heat vs. Celtics tickets right here at!
