Two-time Pro Bowler Logan Mankins is reportedly expected to end his holdout with the New England Patriots. The NFL Players Union states that a player must be listed on the roster for a minimum six games in order to earn the $3.26 million contract tender for the season. If Mankins reports to Patriots practice facilities before their Week 11 home game against the Indianapolis Colts, he will have earn an accrued season toward his 2011 unrestricted free agency. The six-year veteran has been in search of a deal similar the seven-year $56.7 million contract Pro Bowl guard Jahri Evans worked out with the New Orleans Saints.
The Patriots are currently preparing for their next contest against the Baltimore Ravens this Sunday at Gillette Stadium. Since trading stand-out wide receiver Randy Moss, the New England front office took action and brought back Super Bowl XXXIX MVP Deion Branch to expand the offense. “The relationship I have with Deion on the field has always been a great one,” said Quarterback Tom Brady. “I think there has always been a natural chemistry and I hope we would be able to rely back on that a little.”
