Phillies Bats Come Alive

After the Los Angeles Dodgers evened the NLCS score at 1-1, the Philadelphia Phillies made sure they would produce enough offensively in order to avoid a similar scenario next time around.  Cliff Lee held LA scoreless through eight innings pitched as all but two players from Philadelphia’s line up came up with a hit. After pulling ahead in the first with four runs, the Phillies kept piling on the insurance to eventually win 11-0 last night at Citizens Bank Park.

Jayson Werth and Shane Victorino led the heavy offense with homers in the first and eighth innings to bring in five runs combined.  The next two games will be in Philadelphia before the series moves back to Los Angeles if necessary.

Dodgers manager Joe Torre expected different results yesterday but still believes his team to be in good position.  “You never want to get your rear end kicked,” said Torre. “But you don’t toss and turn and wonder if you made the right move. It’s still only one game and we’re in position to tie the series tomorrow.”

Game 4 is set for tonight at 8:07 PM.  Joe Blanton will get the call to start on the mound against LA’s Randy Wolf.  NLCS tickets are available now right here at!
