Goalie Henrik Lundqvist held the Bruins scoreless with 29 saves as Marian Gaborik scored the only goal in the second period for New York to win yesterday at Madison Square Garden. Tim Thomas came up with 22 saves, but the one he missed was all it took for the 9-5 Rangers to skate away with a victory in the books.
“Lundqvist was solid, but their team D was pretty good. Both teams’ D was good,” said Thomas. “Can you think of an odd-man rush for either team? You’d like to win them all, but we’re headed in the right direction. Even if every game we’re not getting the results.”
Both teams failed to score on power play opportunities (Bruins 0-for-5/Rangers 0-for-2). Boston put six more shots on goal but never found a gap through Lundqvist. They are now 6-6 heading into Tuesday’s game against the Detroit Red Wings. Find the best deals for Boston Bruins tickets right here at AceTicket.com!
