Boston’s Agganis Arena will once again open its doors for the Comics Come Home benefit Saturday, November 12th. Worcester native Denis Leary will be back to host the annual stand-up comedy event in support of The Cam Neely Foundation. This year’s outstanding lineup features comedians Lenny Clarke, Tony V, Kenny Rogerson, Nick DiPaolo, Robert Kelly, Artie Lange, Joe DeRosa, and Dom Irrera.
“It’s a great thing for comedians” said Leary. “Imagine the stuff that goes through comedians’ heads in the course of a day. And when you’re not performing all the time or working at ‘The Daily Show,’ it’s a great exercise. I figured if Albert Brooks and Steve Martin do it, why can’t I? I figured I could also use it to make money for charity. In fact, it’s great for that.”
Comics Come Home has been running for the past 17 years, selling out every show to raise over $4 million for The Cam Neely Foundation for Cancer Care. Comedy Central has signed on to televise the events for four years as a way to showcase both national and local talent. Past performers include Dave Chappelle, Jon Stewart, Wanda Sykes, Dane Cook, Jimmy Fallon and many more.
