The Boston Bruins looked like they were on their way to their 11th win of the year in New York vs the Rangers last night. The Bruins entered the third period up 2-0 having shut down the Rangers for 40 minutes. Boston did it’s damage in the second period on goals by Zdeno Chara and Dennis Wideman. Wideman’s goal was shorthanded.
The Rangers who lead the Eastern Conference in points finally got on the board at the 13:55 mark of the third period. Nigel Dawes beat Thomas for the Rangers first goal. Just over five minutes later the Rangers got the equalizer on a goal by Markus Naslund. After a scoreless OT the game went to a shootout where Chris Drury sealed the win for the New York Rangers.
The Bruins who remain in first place in the Northeast Division will play at the Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday 11/17 before returning home to face the rival Buffalo Sabres on 11/19 and the Florida Panthers on 11/21. Bruins tickets are available for all games.
