Vick or Young? Patriots D Studies Both

The New England Patriots are riding high after Monday’s 34-3 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. Despite their recent success, the team has plenty of work cut out for them this week in preparation for the Philadelphia Eagles.

It’s enough for head coach Bill Belicheck to draw up one game plan to contain Michael Vick, but it’s also necessary for the Pats defense to study backup QB Vince Young with Vick’s status questionable for Sunday (two broken ribs). Young led the Eagles to win over their division rival New York Giants last weekend, completing 23 passes for 258 yards and two touchdowns.

“We have to be ready for every player that’s on the roster, even whoever is in the game to start the game we all know that could be a different player on the second or some other play of the game,” said Belicheck. “We’ll prepare for all three quarterbacks and maybe later in the week we’ll be able to zero in more on one than another. We need to be ready for all of them anyway, especially the two that played the most here – Young and Vick. Both can run, have good scrambling ability, both have real big arms, can throw the ball down the field as far as they need to.”

Vick released a statement through the team’s website Thursday that he was feeling “good” despite sitting out practice again. Wide receiver Deion Branch joined a long list of Patriots limited during Thursday’s practice due to a hip ailment. Check for the best New England Patriots ticket deals right here at!
