2013 Boston Beanpot

By on November 27, 2012 in

Boston’s “social event of the winter season” is back¬†for 2013. The first two Monday nights of February have been reserved for the Beanpot. Boston College, Boston University, Harvard and Northeastern¬†will face off in their annual battle for bragging rights.

Starting on December 26, 1952 the Beanpot started at the old Boston Arena. It moved to TD Garden the next year and has been played here ever since. In annual sellouts, the trophy is contested in front of crazed fans from all four schools.

Last year, the Boston College Eagles won it all and this year, it seems likely to be the same. BC is the undisputed best team in the nation. BU and Harvard are talented as well, but lack consistency in their seasons so far. Northeastern is rebuilding again this season and doesn’t look too likely to win. It is only November, however, and the Beanpot doesn’t occur until February. Things are destined to change between now and then.

The Tournament Semifinals and Championship will be played on February 4 and February 11. You can get your tickets now before they’re sold out here with Ace.
