Chicago Blackhawks head coach Joel Queeneville earned his 500th career victory after 11 shootout rounds when defenseman Brent Seabrook found the net with a backhand to seal the deal over the Columbus Blue Jackets 4-3 last night at the United Center. “I’ve been in a lot of great places, said Queeneville. “I’ve been fortunate, worked with good teams and great players.”
Chicago’s Kris Versteeg started off the offensive festivities 6:02 left in the first period. Antoine Vermette and Samuel Pahlsson answered for Columbus with a pair of goals early in the second. The Blackhawks then capitalized on a power play opportunity with Patrick Sharp netting Marian Hossa’s assist. Kris Russell wasted no time putting the pressure back on :40 into the third with another score. Jonathan Toews netted the last goal in regulation for the Hawks before Seabrook wrapped up the night in dramatic fashion.
“For a defenseman, you get out at center ice and it’s definitely a different feeling,” said Seabrook. “Huet kept us in and made some big saves. Tonight was pretty cool.” The Blackhawks will next host the Nashville Predators on Friday, December 4th. Look for great Chicago Blackhawks ticket deals right here at AceTicket.com!
