Michael Vick led his Philadelphia Eagles downfield for two touchdowns in the fourth quarter to claim victory over the Houston Texans 34-24 Thursday night at Lincoln Financial Field. The Eagles were up 20-10 at the half before Arian Foster found the end zone twice in the third block, setting the stage for Vick and Co. to rally for their eighth win of the season. Vick completed 22 passes for 302 yards and two TD’s while collecting 48 yards and one touchdown on the ground.
“This young man is playing as good as anybody I’ve seen play in the NFL and I’ve been doing it for a while,” Texans coach Gary Kubiak said of Vick. “He’s special and we just tried to contain him, but obviously he still had a big night. He’s been doing it against a lot of people. We had a couple of chances for turnovers. He gave us a couple of opportunities that we just didn’t take advantage of.”
The Eagles now sit atop the NFC East Division as the Texans trail the Jaguars, Colts and Titans in the AFC South. Philadelphia is set to take on the Dallas Cowboys Sunday, December 12th at Cowboys Stadium. Houston will be featured in Monday night’s contest against the Baltimore Ravens December 13th.
