This Week in Boston (Dec. 2-8)

The Boston Celtics will be back at home this week after their match up against the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday. They will take on the Minnesota Timberwolves at TD Garden Wednesday night at 7:30. The Celts will then head to Philadelphia to play the 76ers at the Wells Fargo Center on Friday at 7PM.

The long awaited Kiss 108 Jingle Ball concert will be held this Thursday at TD Garden. Kiss 108 is the most recognized pop music station in New England and has a reputation of putting on incredible Jingle Ball concerts annually. This year’s show is sure to live up to expectations with headlining act, Justin Bieber. Also in the line up are the talented Cher Lloyd, The Wanted, Karmin, Bridgit Mendler, Ed Sheeran, Alex Clare, Train, and Timeflies.

The Holiday Pops will be back this Friday to continue the much-loved Boston Holiday tradition. Historic Symphony Hall will become a winter wonderland as conductor Keith Lockhard and the Boston Pops Orchestra perform classically loved holiday music and have a visit from jolly old St. Nick. The show features the majestic voices of the Tanglewood Festival Chorus as well as different guest narrators and projections. The show will last until December 24 with multiple shows weekly.

The Boston University hockey team will take on Maine this Saturday at Agganis Arena. Be sure to catch the Black Bears and the Terriers face off at 8PM.

Welsh rocker, Marina and the Diamonds, will be at the House of Blues on Saturday in support of her new album, Electra Heart. “The Lonely Hearts Club” tour will be opened by electropop duo, Icona Pop. The show will feature hit singles such as “Primadonna,” “Power & Control” and “How to be a Heartbreaker.”

The reimagined production of The Nutcracker will be held this Sunday at the Boston Opera House. The show has been tweaked and reworked this season with new costumes and sets to become the centerpiece of the Boston Ballet’s 49th season. Director Nikko Nissenen exclaims, “Boston is in for a great ride as the Company continues to present a diverse range of repertoire that excites, engages and challenges our audiences.”

Dave Matthews Band is back in Boston at TD Garden this Sunday. After the band’s most recent album, Away from the World, quickly climbed to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, Dave Matthews Band announced their East Coast Winter Tour. The performance will include new songs from the album as well as favorites such as “Ants Marching” and “Crash Into Me.” The band will be supported by reggae legend Jimmy Cliff.
