The Minnesota Timberwolves will head to Boston’s TD Garden on Wednesday night to take on the Celtics. The Celts will be back at home this week after their match up against the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday. The Timberwolves will be on the road again after their Monday night matchup against the 76ers.
Rajon Rondo will be back after his two-game suspension. The NBA suspended Rondo last Thursday for his role in Wednesday night’s altercation with Brooklyn Nets forward Kris Humphries. Humphries had fouled Kevin Garnett which resulted in a lengthy shoving match into the stands by Rondo.
The Celtics, now 9-8, have seen the emergence of guard Courtney Lee in the wake of Rondo’s suspension. Lee averaged 38 minutes per game during Rondo’s two-game suspension. He averaged 11.5 points per game on 47.6 percent shooting during the two games. He did admit that he thought Rondo’s suspension had a lot to do with his recent success.
“That’ll help anybody out when you know you’ll be out there playing a lot of minutes,” Lee said. “So you can play through your mistakes, you can play aggressively, and you’re going to have a lot of reps at it.”
He also commented, “I think with Rondo coming back the play is still going to be the same, we’re just going to have our primary ball handler and playmaker in.”
Lee has asserted himself as an all-around force for the Celtics. He spoke of his aggressive play saying, “That’s what Doc wanted me to do. It took him to sit down and talk to me for me to realize that, but from now on that’s how I’m going to go out there and approach it.”
Hopefully both Lee and Rondo can work together to take on the Timberwolves on Wednesday night. Get your tickets here with Ace!
