Mamma Mia! at Colonial Theatre

The classic Broadway musical Mamma Mia! is set for a string of shows at the Colonial Theatre in Boston, MA from December 15th-27th. The production is primarily playing at the Winter Garden Theatre in New York, which is scheduled to play host to the event from now until well into 2010. The show will take center stage at numerous theaters in major cities including and Appleton, WI, Rosemont, IL, Durham, NC, New Orleans, LA, Atlanta, GA, Miami, FL, and Vienna, VA.

Best known for its incredible soundtrack, Mamma Mia! features songs from the early 1980’s pop group ABBA. In 2002 former members Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulveus were recognized with a Tony Award nomination for their outstanding achievements. Timeless singles such as “Dancing Queen,” “I Have a Dream,” “Voulez-Vous,” and “Take a Chance on Me” are ingeniously woven into an enchanting tale of love, laughter and friendship.

The tale revolves around a Greek island Paradise, where a daughter discovers many secrets of her mother’s past on the eve of her own wedding. The show was created into a full-length feature film in 2008, starring Hollywood’s Meryl Streep, Colin Firth, and Pierce Bronsan.
