Quarterback Tim Tebow has vaulted the Denver Broncos to lead the AFC West Division at 8-5 after a dismal 1-4 start. The former Heisman Trophy winner from Florida will look to carry Denver further into post-season contention when they host the AFC East leading New England Patriots on Sunday.
Tebow is 7-1 as a starter this year for the Broncos. Aaron Hernandez, a teammate of Tebow’s from 2007 to 2009 at Florida, spoke of the natural leadership qualities in his former quarterback. “He definitely was a leader. I’m sure he still is,” he said. “He brought a lot of energy to the game…He’s a popular player. A lot of people like him.”
Patriots QB Tom Brady is in the midst of a career year himself. The 12-year veteran has completed 328 passes for 4,273 yards in total this season with 33 TD’s. When asked of Tebow’s recent success, Brady went into his appreciation for the amount of talent all around the league at the quarterback position.
“I appreciate good quarterbacks, I’ve always watched them around the league, whether it’s Aaron Rodgers or Drew Brees, who are having phenomenal years,” he said. “Obviously, Tim’s having a great year. You watch guys and they way they perform under pressure and it says a lot about the person they are and the way their teammates feel about them.” Purchase your New England Patriots tickets right here at Ace!
