In 82 games last season the Boston Celtics won a total of 24 games. The 2007-2008 Celtics have have also won 24 games, however it only took them 27 games to reach that mark. The Celtics rallied behind the strong effort of Paul Pierce beating the Sonics 104-96 in Seattle for the win. Pierce led the way with 37 points, 26 of those in the 2nd half. As always Celtics coach Doc Rivers had muted excitement about the latest Celtics victory. He reminded reporters that comparisons to the 2006-2007 Celtics weren’t worth much, considering how different the two teams are.
The Celtics are currently half way through a West Coast trip. They’ll play away against the Utah Jazz and the Los Angeles Lakers before heading home to face the Houston Rockets on 1/2/08 at the Garden. Celtics tickets are still available for this and all Celtics home games.
